The first mode is in general public use. It usually consists of a person taking a picture with their camera enabled mobile phone and then sending it on to another phone. The second use for MMS is a logical extension of SMS marketing. Instead of sending short text messages one is now able to deliver multimedia messages that have a far greater impact. The final mode of operation with MMS is the most useful. Multimedia information is loaded onto a central database. This may include virtually any type of information or marketing material.

A mobile phone sends a request to a premium rated short code which is then forwarded onto the MMS database application. The request is processed and the required information is sent back to the requesting phone via MMS.

MMS Content Delivery System

Content Delivery System uses the SMS, MMS, Web, Message and CDS Modules. Together these create a highly scalable, carrier grade and proven system.

The CDS system lets the owner of the content distribute information to end users via various"channels" (for example sport, weather, news) to which the users subscribe. Information is sent either via Text SMS or MMS message. An administrator web interface manages a central database of content. It also controls the users, groups, channels and the broadcasting of the information.
